@ENKELI Your tree diamond art looks awesome. i have not purchased any new ones for a very long time, so I haven't seen ones with all the different shaped diamonds before. Was it tedious to do?
Good morning everyone. I found this discussion group by mistake last night, so I thought I would be the perfect place to share my completed Diamond Art projects,

@Mustang67 the lucky stars just sit in the little jars 😊.
The colouring pics from the former member is my old account, I do miss doing it and I only did that one picture recently being the frog. Thankyou for the kind words ❤️.

Re: Hobbies and Projects
@MissGremlin I have a couple of different colouring books, maybe I will pull one out so I can actually see it, and it might prompt me to do a picture. I will have to do it in bed with a stable table. That will work.
Enjoy your day Dreamy, ❤️ I am going to try and get some sleep, since I have been up all night 😴
I enjoy doing diamond art because it is precise and the colours are preselected so I don't have a battle trying to figure out what colour to do like in colouring in.
I find it very easy to do, I usually will do a painting while I am watching TV or listening to music because I don't need to concentrate. I have to stop buying them because I have a bag full of canvasses that need to be done before I get any more in.
When I have finished the paintings I put them into a display folder so that I can look at them but not have to worry about where to store them. I also have some hung in the toilet and bathroom as well as my bedroom.
You definitely have to be in the mood though to do them. I have a partially completed one sitting on my desk at the moment and I will do a little bit then go off and do something else.

Re: Hobbies and Projects
Good Afternoon @ENKELI So far, I have only finished ones that I have given away as gifts. And the one I have out and am trying to build up the motivation to do, is a picture of a frog to give to my mum. I do have a few that I purchased for myself a while ago, when I had somewhere to hang them. But now I don't. By the time I get around to doing them, the glue surface will probably have lost its stickiness. I only purchased cheap ones from AliExpress & Temu.

Re: Hobbies and Projects
After months of my gel pens being out of stock they are finally back again. So here's the first picture I've done.
@MissGremlin it is stunning Dreamy! you are one clever cookie arent you. i wish i had the ability to colour like that. again well done sweetheart. love bun xxx
Ive got another diamond art that I’ve started but haven’t gotten back too. It’s of Pix and the white and yellow one. It was their last photo taken together before we lost Angel. I also need to find a decent photo of Jett and get one made up.
Maybe that’s something else I should dig out and do. I need more space in my house! 😜
The mosaic is just kits but I have one of my own design to do. Just have to work out the best way to go about it.
Resin is fun I ran out of resin so I’ve just gotten some more and mums getting me some for Christmas so I will be able to try different things.
The white dog is mums that we lost 2 years ago and the one with mud is mine. I’m in the middle of doing one with mine and mums. It was their last photo together. I have to find a decent photo of Jett and get on done up of him.
Hello @ENKELI sweetheart, I've been thinking of you and praying for things to get easier for you ❤️.
I'm struggling so much at the moment, my thoughts have been so dark and I'm very emotional (I'm safe). Just trying to do the best I can to keep pushing through.
Sending lots of love and hugs your way beautiful ❤️

@ENKELI, how are you my friend I am doing ok thanks for asking 😊, how are you going?
They are just kits from Bunnings! They tell you where to put the mosaics. It’s actually quite easy. You can easily do it. I recommend you get one to just try.

Is the resin good that’s sold at Bunnings @Captain24 ? I bought some embroidery kits thinking of you and another 2 forum members @Jacques he used to show his mums tapestries ……and @ENKELI
I got the resin kits from spotlight and the mosaics from Bunnings @PeppyPatti. I have my own resin, molds and colours now so I’m trying different things.

Re: Hobbies and Projects
@Captain24 oh wow, I didn't realise the kits were available at Funnings! (that's what a few of us here in Sane-land call Bunnings 😁) Thanks so much for letting me know 😍
Once I get through some more of my diamond paintings (I have about 100 ready to do) and the 3 latch hook kits waiting for me I will definitely look into the mosaic kits. I am a typical person with bipolar (I have the less intense version, BPD2) and when manic I will buy things I don't need and can't afford so I have heaps of craft things I want to finish before getting in to something else.
Please share your creations when you can, I truly love seeing them.
@Captain24 it's bad but so good! A boss I had told me about how her husband went and bought a new car when he was manic. I couldn't believe how calm she was about it all, but as she said, he didn't realise that he was doing something bad. I am grateful I don't have enough money to do something like that!
Although I did just buy 5 more diamond paintings that I "had" to have!
I have a dentist appointment this afternoon so I know I have to have money for that. Otherwise I might be in trouble lol.

@GezzaP please don't be hard on yourself. I spent too many years regretting and feeling ashamed after overspending.
What I try to do is tell myself that I will do better next time and ask myself for forgiveness. You have nothing to be ashamed of.

@Chasingsunsets I never considered myself arty, in fact I still don't! Diamond art is good for me as the colours and patterns are pre-set. I love colouring in but I will spend half the time choosing a pattern and then the colours. I get frustrated that my brain won't let me just colour!

Re: Hobbies and Projects
@MissGremlin now that is art! The colours are so vibrant and gorgeous 🙂
I don’t have the euphoria to go with it though. @ENKELI. I’m just not sleeping and inside of me is full of energy but the outside has no motivation and is tired and worn out. But I keep pushing myself to match my inside energy. I have the intrusive thoughts that hit as the day goes on and I’m really irritable! So this time it’s not actually fun which is so disappointing! 😜

Re: Hobbies and Projects
@Captain24 I understand that feeling. These days I struggle to get out of bed, yet my mind wants to get up, clean the house and potter in the garden. Usually by the time I go to bed and my night meds have kicked in my mind is racing with all the things I want to do. Thank goodness the night meds put me to sleep. Don't be hard on yourself, I am learning that feeling guilty really doesn't help after all, it just adds to the frustration.
It gets so hard @ENKELI. My night meds aren’t putting me to sleep at the moment. I’m only getting under four hours of sleep a night. I was excited to actually get 6 1/2 last night. It doesn’t feel any different but I guess it has given my body and mind a rest. Should have seen me go on an hours sleep! My body is tried but I’m not sleepy at all!

Re: Hobbies and Projects
@Captain24 oh I am so sorry your night meds aren't working. I think we ate probably on the same one, I know that if I have a certain pain med it interacts with the night meds and I will be wide awake for 24 hours with no sign of tiredness. But boy do I crash and burn afterwards!
I hope you get a good sleep tonight, if okay with you I'll say a prayer for you.
Have you got plans for the weekend?
Hugs 🫂

Re: Hobbies and Projects
@Captain24 no I don't have the euphoria that goes with it either. Are you BPD1 or BPD2? I am type 2 and while I have manic episodes where I do things to the extreme (ie shopping) I have never felt euphoric. I feel cheated lol! No, having periods where I talk like I've been sped up or doing a task and then jumping to the next and the next, it's not as extreme as type 1.

Re: Hobbies and Projects
Im a type 2 as well @ENKELI. But I get the feeling of joy, empowerment, over confident, rapid talking and full of energy and nothing stops me. I didn’t get any of that this time. Which is sad just the on the go constantly and not sleeping. I ran out of things to do yesterday so I washed all the outside of the house down and washed off all the fences! It was a bit ridiculous! I was going to weed the garden but I wouldn’t have had time before my friend came.
Only this time I got the depressive thoughts with it.
I did sleep a little better last night, I got a few hours in and actually yawned before I went to bed so maybe your prayers helped! Thank you!

Re: Hobbies and Projects
@Captain24 Glad to hear you got a good sleep. I am the opposite! I didn't sleep last night but it was more because of the pain killers interacting with the night meds. I went through the bad depressive thoughts and contemplating whether I needed to present at the hospital before I did something not good. Fortunately the depression passed and I got a few hours' sleep this morning but I am feeling rather ordinary now. I had some dental work done yesterday and my jaw is sore as is my top gum. My dentist had to cut into the gum to put a filling in one of my teeth and that is really tender. I am going to enjoy the air conditioning and finish my current diamond painting - it's 37 here in the Midvegas so remaining cool and indoors is the plan!
thats true @Cuddlebear it really does drive us insane indeed. I'm doing fine with it today though as I've been in the house all day and have had the fan on for the whole time even during my sleep last night so I haven't felt hot since. By the way, I'm not sure if you have read my post that I tagged you yesterday about what the supervisor has said to me yesterday, I can send you the link to the post if you haven't read it 🙂
Tomorrow's gonna be 33 degrees which is gonna be another hot day lol

@ENKELI the flower diamond painting looks awesome. Well done to you.
It sounds like you will be a busy Chicky 🐤 between all the diamond paintings, studying, gardening and looking for work.
Don't forgot to take time out for yourself care my sweet.
mystery mosaic colour by number I’ve done last few weeks using double ended felt tip markers. No idea what the picture will be until have coloured at least half of the page.

Re: Hobbies and Projects
@Cuddlebear the pages of the book I’ve used come fully covered with either squares, hexagons, triangles or circles. In each one there is a number which corresponds to number and colour chart in the book. Challenging part is the size of the number and the ‘pattern’ around it as they are small. Page with hexagons on it the colouring area is 38 hexagons wide, 68 hexagons, circles are similar numbers.
I do some and have to stop otherwise page starts to become blurry or my eyes start to hurt. I finished 2 pictures whilst in hospital for the week and received lots of comments from nurses about it being different

@Cuddlebear I find seeing things can be better, sometimes, than written description
@AlwaysMyself i wouldn’t say so 😂😂 it actually took me several different days in order to finish it all & everytime I colour, I get both physically and mentally tired so I do have to take breaks each and everytime and then come back to it whenever I’m ready to continue 🫠

Re: Hobbies and Projects
I like colouring in too, I think I've done 3 pages and it took about a week for each page, flowers🤣🤣🤣
As you say, @Blackcloud , it's physically and mentally exhausting colouring in, and considering which colour palletes to go with, it's a great tool to keep in the moment though

Re: Hobbies and Projects
@Rosepetal96 oh wow, I really admire your dedication in completing a page per week! I personally can’t do that so usually it has to be whenever I feel like I can continue working on the colouring sheet, and I’m not too fussed about aiming to complete it at a certain period 😂😂😂
true, choosing colours is hard when it comes to figuring out what colour you think would suit best for a certain section. I’ve definitely struggled with that for this one 😂 not just this one but for every other colouring sheets I’ve done too hehe. But at the same time I also think it’s ok if the colour you end up choosing isn’t the ‘right’ or ‘perfect’ colour for it. What matters is being able to work on it and finish it 😊

Re: Hobbies and Projects
@Blackcloud , yeah when the motivation hits, it hits hard, but when it goes, it's left half done for a while 🤣🤣
I love that mantra, what colour doesn't have to be 'perfect' it's the sense of taking a pencil shade forward in completion that matters 🌻
Probably around 10-12 hours all together. I am glad that you like it. I mixed the cream colour myself. I wanted to put shading in the corner but that didn’t work out exactly as planned.
@Oaktree wow, that's amazing! I definitely am not as creative painting wise, but give me some inspiration and I can paint a vivid image with words.
Creative writing or any writing of the sorts, is my forte 🌟
What's the process like for mixing your own coloured paint? Does it have a certain degree of ratio for the perfect shade or is it a bit about trial and error?
@Flutterbug9 my mystery mosaic books arrived today, I can't wait to start one tonight as soon as I've finished my current picture that I'm working on ☺️

@Oaktree That’s beautiful !!! I can imagine a tea towel with that pattern repeated on it
it’s completely what psychologist needs.
Many years ago I went to Perth Clinic : I was in there for a week and somehow ; I don’t know how I ended up selling one of my paintings to the Psychiatrist. It looked like yours !! A few years later I was working at Bunnings, one of my workmates ended up in Perth Clinic and she saw the painting still hanging on his walls.
Oh that is so lovely @PeppyPatti😍😍😍. Do you recall what the painting was of? 😊
(Or dont mention if you put your name on the painting and it could still be there...)
I think its so lovely that they ntotuce your art, and loved it so much they chose to buy and display it 🥰

Re: Hobbies and Projects
from my studies well I can feel
Nonchalant about it but I find the real power of nature in some pieces of artwork.
@Oaktree your picture reminds me of-branches split and going upward—they don't "run," they simply reach toward the light. It is sturdy. It is calm. it’s unconscious.
i never studied for a title. I studied to recover from a head injury. I think your artwork would look good repeated on curtains or a tea towel.
What are your mystery mosaic books called. How do they look inside? Are you happy with them. Please send a picture of the cover. I was looking at some on Amazon
