I am glad Dr Kanna mentioned the importance of circadian rhthyms in Bipolar. First person who has mentioned it to me and I have been looking at this diagnosis since 1980. An uncle by marriage had been diagnosed with Manic Depression. He also had a Masters in psychology and taught English and had a few good tips for me in discussing the nature of psychosis and encouraged me to look at developmental Psychology, given he knew of my history. Unfortunately he also pushed sex with his student and illicit substances, must have been his mania. Hmmm. I no longer have contact with them.
Anyway, I was grateful for any intelligent conversations or understandings, in a very mad world.
I also was fond of a father of a boyfriend, who had diagnosed Manic Depression. He was a pianist and cellist. Unfortunately he shot his wife and killed himself. It happened just after my sister. Hmmm. The father was actually kinder than the boyfriend. I sometimes play his favourite piece in memory of him. The Waldstein. RIP
I have just known too many wounded humans.
Yes, re Vincent.
Then my son.
Then it was suggested by my current shrink I could have BP Mixed State, but also with the proviso, that there had been enough labels floating around in my family and life. He laughs when I say I thought I was more schizoaffective.
The people in the webinar tended to have much higher access to social and financial capital than I have. Yes we are all different, but I wish traumaload and socioeconomic differences were not dismissed or overlooked so much in current narratives.
